Available for holiday rentals, is this house, one of a small terrace of eight-year-old properties built beside the river Guadiaro, just outside the 'white village' Jimera de Libar. The house is on two floors. The ground floor has a long living room with fireplace, a separate equipped kitchen - hob, fridge, washing machine, microwave, toaster and coffee-machine (but without oven) Upstairs are two well-proportioned bedrooms (one double and a twin) and a bathroom. Sleeps max. 4 persons.
This is a delightful spot, south west of Ronda inland from Spain's Costa del Sol (one hour and a half to Marbella; one hour and a quarter to the coast at Estepona). The location is on the edge of the Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema; a lovely valley with mountains all around and great walks. (The area is popular with birdwatchers.)

This is in an ideal setting for a most peaceful and relaxing holiday. The property is equidistant from the airports at Malaga, Seville, Jerez and Gibraltar - all within a roughly two-hour drive. Car hire is recommended and easily arranged at airports. Jimera is also served by train, being on the Algeciras - Bobadillas line, closed until May 2010.

The local area is full of white villages each with their own character and history.

Jimera is well-served by several good local bars and restaurants, not least Bar Allioli, two minutes’ walk away, across the railway track with very reasonably priced tapas and meals. The restaurant Quercus occupies a former train shed right beside the house offering imaginative cuisine. There are other restaurants in Cortes, ten minutes away by car and at Benaojan, twelve minutes away.  Spectacular also Ronda offers all types of local and international cuisine – at prices to suit all pockets.

The village has a new municipal swimming pool (summer only) in beautiful setting just under 1km away. We have repeat visitors renting the house again and again.

This is a real escape into authentic Andalucia.
