LEAVING Bar Allioli  turn left along to the railway crossing then left out of the village.

At the Y junction in the road go to the right over the bridge with views of the Guadiaro.

Just after the bridge finishes drop down the path and enter the road in front of the terraced houses. Continue along this un paved road and eventually you will end up in a field in front of a large white house. Cross the field on the right edge until you arrive at a path  at the side of the river.

This is a public way so if you get directed away just let them know that you are on a via publica.

This path meanders along at the edge of the river and eventually you will arrive at the source of  natural water feed for the main river (see picture).

Cross over the water and at the other side you will find a well worn dirt road. This has been marked with green blobs of paint, but is easy to follow and winds up and up until you reach the road and a gate. Pass through the gap at the side and turn right towards Cueva de Pileta.

Although this section is on tarmac it is well worth it for the different views you get over the vally. Keeping an eye out for traffic the road climbs to a valley with farm houses just below the cave and then snakes up and you pass the enttrance to the Cueva.

Approx. 200/300 metres after this on the right hand side of the road you will see green blobs marking the path down to Benaojan Station. This is an easy path to follow and you will eventually arrive at a house decorated with junk.

From here keep on the main path and you will arrive at the Hotel Molinos del Santos.

Spend a  few minutes to walk up the path to the artesian well just above the hotel.

Then choose your watering hole; The Hotel, Bar Stop, La Cantina on the station or El Muelle at the end of the station.
