SNOW and rain sweeping through Andalucía left 18 secondary roads cut off across the region on Monday morning. And the Andalucía capital, Sevilla, has seen its first snow for more than 50 years. The President of the Junta de Andalucía, José Antonio Griñán, has announced that an estimated €100 million will be needed to repair the damage to infrastructure caused by the bad weather affecting the region since Christmas. In Gaucín, on Monday morning, one person died and two others were hurt when their vehicle came off the MA-9300 road to El Colmenar. It’s an area which has been badly affected by snow and saw temperatures of as low as -1°C on Sunday. On Sunday the road from San Pedro to Ronda was closed for a time by ice on the road.
