Trains
Since 1992 communications to and from Andalucia have been revolutionised by the introduction of the AVE, a high-speed train with speeds of up to 350kph/220mph, linking Madrid with Cordoba, Seville and Malaga. The AVE's infrastructure has also had a beneficial effect on the region's high-tech Talgo, a train with a top speed of 200kph/125mph which connects several Andalucian cities (Malaga, Algeciras, Cadiz and Huelva) with the capital in just a few hours. From Ronda it is possible to catch a direct Talgo service to Cordoba or Madrid. The local train service in the Guadiaro Valley - as well as taking you through some of the most amazing scenery is very comfortable and reliable and is ridiculously cheap. Whilst not a very frequent service (three local stopping trains a day in each direction on the Algeciras - Bobadilla line), you will have a great time mixing with the Andalucian village people on the railway and with a little forward planning can have a great day out for next to nothing and without concerns about parking.
IMPORTANT: SERVICES MARKED IN RED WILL BE OPERATED BY BUS. We recommend that you always check your journey times with train operator RENFE for the latest information on their Customer Service Number: 902 24 02 02
