FACUA Andalucia is an organisation which acts to protect consumer rights.
Following a survey by the national body of FACUA, the local branch has conducted their own survey in 368 different bars situated in the provincial capitals during the months of January, February and March this year.

NOT all the best of walks are in the guide books and sometimes a bit of map study pays off.

I had often driven past the Peñon de Benadalid and wondered what it would be like up on top. I had also seen ruins of a castle marked on a map but never spotted them when driving the Ronda-
Gaucin road, then again I do tend to keep my eyes on the road.

Armed with my GPS we set off one Tuesday not certain exactly what type of walk we would end up doing, but did have a vague idea of where we were going.

FEBRUARY 1, 2011 turned out to be a cold but clear and sunny winter's day and perfect for a trip to Seville. So after a typical Andalucian breakfast of toast with olive oil and garlic, washed down with coffee, off we set in the direction of Seville.

WE’VE just had a puente in Spain when everyone takes a day off work close to the weekend and according to my records November bodes a pretty quiet time. YOU know how sometimes in the middle of the night you suddenly wake up knowing something is wrong? Well at 5.20 early Sunday morning that didn’t happen to me. But it did to my wife. She then prodded me and sleepily donning clothes and dripping  through the pouring rain I went to check my bar.

The night before we had hosted Mijas Hash House Harriers who were having their Halloween Fancy dress Run in the Estacion de Cortes vicinity. After the run they arrived at my marquee and were fed and entertained by Markus & Or.

SOMETIME last year while I was mulling over what I was going to do in the way of events and fun days to help promote Bar Allioli I downloaded a CD of the great accordion player Flaco Jimenez. This CD was Flaco playing with other artists, everyone does them, even Bing Crosby did one after he died!
