LIFE here in the valley is most definitely good for the mind, the body and the soul.

An example of why? The other morning I was planning on leaving the village fairly early to collect my family (the beautiful grandson is now 22 months old - time flies) from Gibraltar airport… only one and a half hours drive from this little piece of paradise.

However, before leaving I had to visit the bank which opens for two hours every second day. On my way I met my old friend Miguel who was returning from an early morning mushroom picking expedition.  He had two carrier bags stuffed with huge, fat, fresh mushrooms and, of course, he insisted on sharing them with me… we had them last night with fresh garlic and olive oil - super delicious!

On my way down to the Estacion to share freshly toasted molletes and coffee over an English lesson with Ana I pass the local goat man who waves to me and calls “Adios!”  (not goodbye but good morning) with a big smile as he welcomes another beautiful morning.

I pass Paco bringing the horses in for the day (out of the sun) after their overnight stay outside, munching grass in the cool of the night.

Blissed out and feeling truly blessed I then headed for Gibraltar and the coast…
