LAST year, as we all remember, the rains started just about this time and the subsequent flooding in the valley will likely go down in history books. There have been moments over the last few weeks when it looked like we might, once again, be under water... but no, the skies have cleared and we have had a perfectly beautiful Christmas and New Year. I start back at school tomorrow and, even in a job that I enjoy very much, there is that “Oh, no!” feeling, especially when I head off down to the coast this evening to pick up the threads of my other life again. But, hey ho... it’s always worth it at the end of the month! The last two weeks here have been bliss.
