The cave of La Pileta is situated at an altitude of 670 m on the south slope of Las Mesas, a rocky hill located between the mountain range of El Palo and the mountain range of Juan Diego, which runs pararell to the Guadiaro river to the south of Benaojan.

It is situated off the MA-8401 local road, 4.5 km from Benaojan in the direction of Cortes de la Frontera. From the car park you climb on a stone stair-way to the entrance of the Cave.

It is also possible to arrive by train at the stations of Benaojan - Montejaque or Jimera de Líbar, but there is no public transport from the trains station to La Pileta.

The cave is open all year round.

Opening hours from 10:00 to 13:00h and 16:00 to 18:00h (17:00 from October through to March).

Prices: Adults (10 people): 8 €. Adults: (More than 10 people): 7 €. Children (5 to 12 years): 5 €. Students (More than 15 people): 5 €. Two guides are normally on duty and they take tours of up to 25 in each group. When there are few visitors, scheduled hours are combined in order to help minimise the impact that the visit has on the conservation of the paintings. As the tours last around an hour, you will have to wait if you miss the guides, who lock the doors to the caves behind them as they set off on the tour. Still, the wait is beautiful, as the benched area looks out across the Guadiaro Valley 670m above sea level.
